For the sausage sizzle

Beef sausages

Soft slices of fresh white bread

Tomato sauce
For the caramelised onions

Large brown onions

Caramelise the Onions (do this first):
In a large pan or on the flat plate on the BBQ, over medium-low heat, add olive oil.
Once warm, add the onions. Cook slowly for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden.

Cook the Sausages:
Heat BBQ over medium heat.
Cook sausages, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through (about 10–12 minutes).

Assemble:
Generously spoon caramelised onions onto bread (if you like your onions under!)
Place a sausage on onions/bread
Add sauce of choice (tomato, BBQ, mustard, or a mix).
